Toronto, Canada – Peel police announced the arrest of a man with multiple lifetime driving bans for vehicle-related charges, despite his history of convictions for dangerous driving and other offenses. The 41-year-old Brampton resident has been convicted of 35 criminal charges and eight provincial offense act charges since 2017, including dangerous operation, impaired operation, driving while prohibited, and other offenses.
The man was apprehended in Brampton on April 11 on a warrant from Toronto police for theft of a vehicle, driving while prohibited, and breach of probation. Peel Regional Police Deputy Chief Marc Andrews emphasized the importance of targeting repeat driving offenders to protect the community from reckless behavior.
Andrews stated, “We will use all lawful means necessary to stop these irresponsible criminals from putting the safety of our community at risk.” The man was then transferred to Toronto police custody for a bail hearing.
