Murder-Suicide Tragedy Unfolds as Texas Mom Forces Son to Say Goodbye Before Tragic Incident

San Antonio, Texas – A tragic incident unfolded in San Antonio as a Texas mother instructed her 3-year-old son to bid farewell to his father on camera before fatally shooting him and then taking her own life. The heartbreaking murder-suicide occurred a day before the woman was scheduled to appear in court for a custody hearing with her ex-husband, according to authorities.

The bodies of Savannah Kriger, 32, and her son Kaiden were discovered with gunshot wounds to their heads in a San Antonio park on March 19. The investigation into the harrowing final hours leading up to the tragedy revealed a series of disturbing events orchestrated by Kriger.

Prior to the killings, Kriger engaged in destructive behavior, including shooting bullets at her wedding photos, vandalizing her ex-husband’s home, and sending threatening messages via FaceTime and texts. Sheriff Javier Salazar revealed that Kriger fired shots into her wedding portraits before picking up her son from daycare.

A chilling video recovered from Kriger’s phone depicted her and her son in a ditch at the park where their bodies were found, with Kriger instructing her son to say goodbye to his father. The subsequent discovery of the video, along with Kriger’s actions and messages, painted a grim picture of her intentions.

Authorities initiated an Amber Alert, leading to the discovery of the bodies approximately 19 hours after the tragedy. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office concluded that the deaths were a result of murder-suicide, shedding light on the custody battle Kriger and her ex-husband were entangled in.

Kriger had filed for divorce and obtained a temporary restraining order against her ex-husband before the fatal incident occurred. The custody hearing scheduled for the same day the bodies were found underscored the contentious nature of their legal battle.
