Orpheus Pledger Absconds from Hospital Amid Assault Investigation – Newly-Released CCTV Footage Reveals Alleged Attack

Melbourne, Australia – Former Home and Away actor Orpheus Pledger is facing serious allegations of assaulting a woman in Melbourne. Recently released CCTV footage appears to capture the moment of the alleged incident. The actor missed his bail hearing, reportedly leaving the hospital where he was undergoing medical checks as ordered by the court.

Pledger was supposed to appear in court virtually to finalize a bail application but has been on remand since March 27. The charges against him include injury and unlawful assault. His lawyer revealed that Pledger had left the hospital while awaiting an involuntary health assessment.

The alleged assault reportedly took place on March 25, resulting in the woman being taken to the hospital with neck bruises and minor facial lacerations. The court viewed footage of the incident, with the magistrate noting that it appeared Pledger had stomped on the woman’s head. There are also allegations that the bruising on the woman’s face matches Pledger’s shoe soles.

During the bail application, considerations were made regarding the public risk, the alleged victim’s safety, and Pledger’s need for mental health and substance abuse treatment. Court documents suggest that Pledger is at a high risk of causing further harm to the victim. Royal Melbourne Hospital has been contacted about the delay in Pledger’s treatment but has not responded. As a result, Pledger’s bail was revoked, and his case is set to be heard again on May 10.

Pledger began his acting career at a young age and is best known for his role on Home and Away. More recently, he appeared on SAS Australia in 2022 but left due to concerns over his behavior. The actor’s actions and legal proceedings have raised questions about mental health and public safety. The ongoing case has drawn attention to the complexities surrounding substance abuse and violence allegations.
