Shooting at Nashville Restaurant Leaves 1 Dead, 7 Injured: Suspect Sought

Nashville, Tennessee witnessed a tragic incident on Sunday at a local restaurant, resulting in one fatality and seven individuals sustaining injuries.

The shooting took place at Roasted Salemtown in Nashville around 3:03 p.m. CDT, according to Metro Nashville Police Department Sgt. David Hazzard. Multiple ambulances rushed several individuals with gunshot and graze wounds to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Authorities identified the suspected shooter as Anton Lamike Rucker, a convicted felon who remains at large, and the deceased victim as 33-year-old Allen Beachem.

The incident reportedly began during a Sunday brunch at Roasted Salemtown, where an argument ensued between two individuals. One of them pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots before fleeing the scene. The victim who died is believed to be the other individual involved in the altercation.

Five individuals sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, while another person suffered a graze wound. Mayor Freddie O’Connell expressed his sorrow over the unfortunate events that disrupted Easter celebrations in the neighborhood.

Detectives are currently investigating the motive behind the shooting at Roasted Salemtown, where a brunch event was taking place earlier in the day with music and dancing. The establishment, previously known as The Local Distro, has undergone a change in ownership, now run by Ericka Fizer-Harvey (Chef E) and Will Radford.

Eyewitnesses at a nearby playground described the terrifying moment when they heard gunshots, prompting parents to protect the children.
