Shooting Rampage Leaves 4-Year-Old Dead and 4 Others Critically Injured in Northeast Bexar County

San Antonio, Texas – Shockwaves have rippled through a Northeast Bexar County neighborhood after a tragic shooting took the life of a four-year-old girl and left four others seriously injured. The incident occurred on Wednesday night in the 6700 block of Windsor Hollow, near Walzem Road.

Surveillance video released by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office captured the harrowing attack, showing an individual walking up to the home and firing numerous rounds into it. Sheriff Javier Salazar described the scene as the front of the house being “Swiss-cheesed” due to the barrage of bullets.

The following morning, the extent of the damage became visible with bullet holes marked out on the windows and door of the home. Three children, ages 4, 6, and 8, were among those struck by the gunfire, with the youngest child tragically succumbing to her injuries.

Neighbors in the area expressed their shock and disbelief at the violence that had unfolded in their community. One resident, Donnie Soto, a military veteran who had served tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, condemned the senseless act, calling the perpetrator a coward.

As detectives continued to investigate the shooting and search for potential leads, the community came together to show their support for the grieving family. Some residents visited the home to offer condolences, while others left tokens of sympathy, such as stuffed animals, in a display of unity during the difficult time.

The Sheriff hinted at a possible lead in the case, mentioning that someone had been in contact with one of the adults in the home before the shooting. Investigators were exploring the individual’s connection to the incident, urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.

The tragic event has left the neighborhood grappling with the senseless loss of a young life and the devastating impact on the other victims. As the community mourns and seeks justice for those affected, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to bringing the perpetrator to justice and ensuring the safety and security of all residents in the area.
