Stockport, England – A disturbing Snapchat video has surfaced, capturing a vicious assault and robbery on an innocent shop worker by a group of hooded assailants. The harrowing incident took place at a petrol station on Wellington Road South in Stockport during the early hours of July 29, 2021. The footage shows the employee being subjected to punches, kicks, and being stomped on while cowering behind the counter.
The video, shared on social media, played a pivotal role in leading the authorities to apprehend the perpetrators involved in the brutal attack. Identified as Kausar Amin, Bradley Maphosa, Tyler Garforth, and Riley Richardson, the individuals were implicated in the assault and robbery of the shop worker.
The appalling footage depicts the group threatening the staff member from outside the petrol station before storming in, hurling a digital screen at the worker, and proceeding to physically assault him as he falls to the ground in terror. Following the assault, the gang made off with approximately £600 worth of inventory from the establishment.
Thanks to the Snapchat video, Amin, Maphosa, Garforth, and Richardson were arrested and subsequently charged. The legal proceedings resulted in Amin receiving a two-year sentence for robbery at Minshull Street Crown Court in Oldham. His three accomplices were also convicted and faced varying sentences for their involvement in the crime.
Detective Constable Lucy Williams commended the bravery of the victim and the public’s support in bringing the perpetrators to justice. She emphasized the severity of the unprovoked attack and underscored the importance of holding those responsible accountable for their actions. Garforth and Richardson were each given specific sanctions and obligations as part of their sentencing.
