Suspect Arrested in Fatal Tuscaloosa Shooting: One Dead, Three Injured

Tuscaloosa, AL – A recent arrest has been made in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Sunday morning, resulting in the death of one man and injuring three others. The incident took place outside the Tuscaloosa city limits in the 1300 block of 58th Street.

Donavin Ryans, 30, was identified as the victim who tragically lost his life due to the shooting. The other three individuals involved sustained injuries that are fortunately not believed to be life-threatening. Following thorough investigations and witness interviews, 22-year-old Gredrick Agnew was identified as the suspect in the case.

According to Captain Jack Kennedy of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, the victims were inside a residence when Agnew, who had previously been asked to leave a small gathering, opened fire into the home through an open door, striking the victims. As a result, Agnew is facing capital murder charges along with the underlying felony of firing into an occupied dwelling.

After the shooting, Agnew fled the scene, prompting law enforcement to launch a search effort with the assistance of the U.S. Marshall’s Task Force across multiple counties. Eventually, Agnew was located and taken into custody in Marengo County on Sunday. He is currently being held without bond at the Tuscaloosa County Jail on the capital murder charge.

Additionally, Kennedy mentioned that Agnew will face further charges after consultation with the District Attorney’s Office. The authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic event to ensure justice is served for the victims and their families.
