Arthur Mantas, a member of the family that owns the gas station, described the scene as “straight out of a movie” as he rushed to fight the flames with a fire extinguisher, only to be knocked to his knees by the force of the gas station’s fire suppression system.
The woman behind the wheel of the Acura fled the scene after the incident, leaving behind significant damage estimated at more than $100,000 to the gas station. While she was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, no charges have been filed in connection with the destructive drive.
