Madison County Sheriff Investigates Trio of Mysterious Deaths in Richmond Residence

Richmond, Kentucky – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a tragic incident involving three deaths at a residence in Richmond, Kentucky. The deaths of Sherry Hammerle, Evonne Hammerle, and Ben Masters, all occurring at the same time and location, have sparked an intensive investigation by law enforcement.

Chief Deputy Tony Terry of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a call for assistance from Madison County EMS at Elmwood Drive just before 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. Tragically, both Sherry Hammerle and Evonne Hammerle were pronounced dead after being transported to Baptist Health Richmond. Additionally, Ben Masters was discovered deceased inside the same residence.

The circumstances surrounding the three deaths have led investigators to suspect the possibility of overdoses, although the investigation is still ongoing pending a toxicology report. Detective Josh Horn and the Investigations team from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office are actively working on the case to gather all pertinent information and leads.
