Man Charged in Connection to Homicide Investigation in Atkinson County

Axson, Georgia – A Pearson man is facing charges in connection to a homicide investigation in Atkinson County. The incident unfolded on Tuesday, April 30, when the Atkinson County Sheriff’s Office sought assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) after receiving reports of an unresponsive man in a car in Axson.

Law enforcement officials arrived at the scene on Wright Lane to discover the lifeless body of Johan Romero, 27, inside the vehicle with gunshot wounds, as stated by the GBI. Following evidence and interviews, the arrest of Pablo Miranda, 32, was made on Wednesday, May 1, in relation to Romero’s death. Miranda is now in custody at the Atkinson County Jail, facing charges of malice murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault.
