Offender Caught on CCTV: Man Prepared to Stab Victim Outside Pub in Brutal Attack

Kirkby-in-Ashfield, United Kingdom – A violent offender, Tyrone James, has been caught on CCTV preparing to stab a man outside a pub, an incident that left the victim with life-altering injuries. The shocking footage captures James punching the victim before carrying out the “savage” knife attack in the early hours of a Sunday in October last year.

Following the brutal attack, which occurred in Station Street, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, James was captured on camera as he fled the scene. Police were able to track down James through meticulous examination of CCTV footage and the use of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, which pinpointed his whereabouts at the time of the assault.

Investigations revealed that James had been making threats to others while drinking at various pubs in the Kirkby area earlier that night. After leaving the area and returning with different clothes, CCTV footage captured James concealing a knife before carrying out the violent attack.

James, wearing a balaclava, first punched one man before launching the sustained knife attack on the second victim. Following his arrest, the 41-year-old was charged with committing grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon in public, and assault. He appeared before Leicester Crown Court and was sentenced to eight years in prison.

Detective Inspector James Oakton of Nottinghamshire Police described the incident as a “savage attack” that occurred in front of witnesses outside a town center pub. The decisions made by James that night resulted in a victim suffering severe injuries and James being incarcerated.
