Serena Marcy, the alleged assailant, now faces attempted murder charges for her involvement in two separate assaults on March 29. The first attack targeted Jeremy Gist, who was innocently retrieving something from his car near the 1100 block of South Highland Avenue in Tacoma when Marcy struck him directly in the face with the ax.
Witness Kisa Harris described the relentless attack, recalling how Marcy swung the ax at Gist like a massive, serrated knife, causing severe injuries such as shattered bones, a prominent facial indent, and fractures extending to the top of his skull. This time, the incident involved a stabbing turned carjacking on Ruston Way, where Marcy allegedly attacked an Uber driver, stabbing him in the neck and chest before fleeing with his vehicle. The injured driver was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment, emphasizing the dangerous nature of Marcy’s actions.
Harris, deeply affected by the traumatic events, revealed that Marcy’s intentions appeared to extend beyond mere theft; she seemed to be driven by a desire to cause harm.
