Murder Charge Filed in Dagenham Stabbing Incident: Suspect in Custody

Dagenham, East London – A tragic incident unfolded in Dagenham, East London, resulting in the death of a 23-year-old man due to stab wounds. The suspect, 24-year-old Frankie Burletson, has been charged with the murder of Haseeb Bhatti in Flamstead Road on April 20.

Upon receiving reports of a 50-year-old man with stab injuries in Rothwell Gardens, the Metropolitan Police swiftly responded to the scene at 1:30 am. Fortunately, the injuries sustained by the unnamed 50-year-old were not life-threatening, and he has since been discharged from the hospital.

During the course of investigating the incident with the 50-year-old, officers discovered Mr. Bhatti’s severe injuries. Tragically, Mr. Bhatti was found in Flamstead Road and succumbed to his wounds at the scene.

Subsequently, Burletson was apprehended on Wednesday and charged with the murder of Mr. Bhatti, along with grievous bodily harm towards the 50-year-old individual. Following his arrest, Burletson appeared in Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning and has been remanded in custody for an upcoming hearing at the Old Bailey.
